Smoky Sunrise

I wear my disappointment like the thick clouds that drape across the sky this morning. It is a beautiful different kind of sunrise but I only see one dimension, trying to reason myself out of it even if the view cannot. It takes the simple song of the black-capped chickadee to realize: I need an attitude adjustment!

I was wondering how the smoke might affect your pictures - or your hiking - after hearing the news. Looks like it didn't keep you in, at least!

It was odd but I didn't even smell any smoke. The fire was raging at night and was mostly contained by the morning but the news kept reporting it all day as if it were still an inferno! It would have been quite a sight from on top of Green Mountain. It was quite a ways away.
