Deceptively Plain

In this part of the world, lots of people look at Green Mountain rising above the city of Denver and laugh at it being called a mountain. When you compare it to all of the bigger, higher, tree-covered mountains that we are spoiled to have all around us, I can see their point. Many laugh at it being called green since most of the year, its’ slopes are covered in the browns and tans of the short- or mid-grass prairie. I laugh to myself when I hear this, because like all magical places on this earth, her secrets, in glorious detail, are only revealed to those who are open to seeing them.
Yes, Green Mountain is deceptively plain.
Look around you, what are you missing?
