Kathy, you mean you didn't pick him up and pet him? Why not? :-) Placing the boot in the picture was a nice way to show scale. He's big, but not too big.
It would have been better if Beth had been willing to put her foot closer - but she wasn't!!
Yikes!! That would have sent me running even though I know they aren't very dangerous. I've managed to overcome my phobia of small spiders, so size does matter.
