New Year

Mother nature has her own ideas of what kinds of gifts she will present. It was very cloudy this morning with no hint of color.

I just love this view with the wavy line of spruce trees snaking down the slope, hugging the ridgeline, leading to the Denver skyline, rabbitbrush in the foreground.

After being patient and enjoying the warmth and quiet of the gray morning, there it was; a hint of pink, subtle yet precious. Joy is always lurking about, ready if you are.

At the end of the day, looking at another quickly setting sun, one tree already in shade, the other three still basking in the warmth.

I learn my lessons from these trees; Embrace life.

Love that second one here too. Is that ice on the trees? I assuming it is. We've got some great ice trees around here now too after a recent ice storm.
