Anticipation

It is the time of year here when we can anticipate some big heavy snowstorms. Three years ago during Spring Break, we got three feet of snow and couldn’t drive on our street for at least 2 days. Until the snowplow made a pass, even the 4WD trucks couldn’t navigate it. We had fun watching them get stuck! This morning we had a teaser of snow but the big storm is scheduled to arrive at 3:00 p.m.(?) bringing with it the chance of a foot to a foot and a half of snow. Someone I know (and I won’t name names) is hoping for 3 feet and work closures.

I haven’t posted any photos lately because I have a new camera and am in the process of learning photography from the ground up. By choice, I got a camera without all of those preset scene modes. I figured I would be lazy and rely on those rather than learn the manual mode. So due to the learning curve and being swamped at work, I have little to show. I have an adventure coming up this week and will have some new photos to post by next week.

prisoner of work!

Sometimes life seems entirely too busy. I like to have time to relax and do nothing. But even when it seems that the work will never get done, the new camera arrives and so begins the joy of learning how to use it!

On the way to work this morning, the clouds were so exotic that I had to stop the car and see what I could capture.

Still work seems to keep me prisoner. But the building where I work is full of oddities and now I continue the task of capturing them all, as time allows.

Good things are in store; I know that for sure!

spirit of the lake

I was inspired by one of my recent photos to go back to Addenbrook Park this morning. It was much warmer even with at breeze that was beginning to pick up. I am usually enveloped in a cover of quiet when I go out for sunrise photography but not at Addenbrook. The lake belongs to the geese and they are not quiet creatures. They communicate loudly with each other and those water landings and take-offs are quite the riot of splash and dash. Some might find this sound to be an unpleasant babel but to me it resonates with the spirit of the lake.
